Our International Baccalaureate Programme
Our journey begins with the Junior Kindergarten 3 programme focusing on several main concepts that build each individual child’s foundation of independence, cooperation, curiosity and confidence.
Throughout the school year our Junior Kindergarten students are introduced to the Learner Profile attributes: Inquirers, Communicators, Caring, Balanced, Knowledgeable, Principled, Open Minded, Reflective, Risk-takers, and Thinkers.
The Junior Kindergarten 4 programme offers French, Music, Jolly Phonics, Art and P.E. specialist teachers. Our specialist’s teachers are introduced to the children as another member of our classroom community. We also participate in the Primary Years Programme weekly school assembly and have opportunities for public speaking throughout the year.
Our units of inquiry within the Early Years framework are focused around the child and begin to branch out to their school environment. Our little people are so egocentric that true inquiry begins within them. Their learning is continuous, allowing them to build upon prior experiences to develop further and deeper inquiry as a result.
When our children set off to our Kindergarten programme, they are more prepared to ask meaningful questions and go deeper into their inquiry. They are familiar with using the language of an IB learner and being able to see themselves as readers and writers. They are equipped with more confidence when faced with a conflict and are using appropriate language to find solutions.
The Junior Kindergarten programme follows the school schedule as set out and distributed in September of each year; and will therefore be closed for recognized statutory holidays and scheduled professional development days and school holidays. Students have the option to enrol in our Out of School Care on school closure days.

Out of School Care Registration for 3 + 4 year olds
This program is offered to families of Aspengrove School. The Out of School care program starts immediately following the school day and continues until 5:30 pm.
