Music 5 and 8;  Math 6 and 9

Mrs. Jill McElwain brings to Aspengrove 25 years of teaching music (both privately and in schools) in Alberta and British Columbia as well as music director musical theatre, concert and jazz bands from primary to high school.  In addition, Mrs. McElwain is the composer of a music program called “Discoveries in Music” which is an ensemble keyboarding program geared toward elementary music instruction.  She is currently the co-conductor of the Nanaimo Community Band and the Nanaimo ‘Mood Swings’ dance band; plays french horn and keyboard in the Nanaimo Concert Band; directs the Dover Bay Choir and plays piano in Dixie Down Beat jazz band.  Mrs. McElwain is currently working on her Masters in Music Education at the University of Victoria.
