Grade 5 Market a Huge Success
The AGS Grade 5 class has been exploring economic concepts. In order to learn more about the functioning of a monetary economy the class hosted a fundraiser on November 20th. The fundraiser was a Christmas Market, and students prepared many different “products” and “services” for this event, including: baking, jewelry, home decor items, games and more. Thanks to the generous members of our community who attended the market, it was a huge success.
We raised over $1300 for the Nanaimo Christmas Angels Program! This is a program that sponsors less fortunate individuals and families in Nanaimo by providing them with Christmas gifts. The Grade 5 class sponsored a family of five and enjoyed shopping for gifts for each member of the family, including the parents. The class is pictured here with Rita from the Nanaimo Christmas Angels Program (back row holding the purple unicorn:-). Rita was moved to tears when she saw the thoughtful gifts that the class has purchased for their sponsored family. This was a wonderful way for the Grade 5’s to take action this Christmas. Thank you again for your generous support AGS!
